I heart dining halls

One day I was eating at O-Hill with my friend and she got up to get more food. As she was getting the food, I looked around the dining area looking at nothing in particular. I came to the realization that I truly will miss eating at dining halls.

Now how can this be when I'm only in my second year? As she was getting food, I thought of many people's grievances against the dining halls. Nothing good to eat today, food don't taste right, etc. etc. I was thinking why is this so? There honestly is WAY too much food to not have something to placate that appetite.

I was going through the varieties of food dining halls have and I myself was like dang...there's sooo much!

16 fountains for sodas and juices, a water cooler, 4-6 drums for tea (sweetened, unsweetened, and whole bunch of others), coffee (regular and decaf of course), cream, sugar, 3 kinds of milk not including soy milk and the list goes on for drinks.

Waffle stations with waffle makers and the goodies you put on top, salad bar with like 30 kinds of dressings and those random sprinklings for salads, fruit baskets all over the place, 3-5 kinds of pizzas, people to make sandwiches in front of you, people cooking stir fry and omelets to order, baked goodies, toasters, microwaves, you get the picture.

So much food at our picking and I realize more and more how much I love this variety and the food ain't bad either. Hands down I would eat here everyday. Shoot, I would live there if it were not for them not having beds and showers.

Where else can we have food cooked to order, where it is the right temperature to eat (most of the times), and it's all you can eat? To add the cherry to this sundae, you ain't even got to wash one thing!

If we ain't living like royalty I don't what this can be called. Now of course there will be instances where something is a little off, but still ALL this?

Yes, I will miss dining halls when I graducate. Ah, my ode to thee.
